The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities (\u201cthe Joint Council\u201d) led a delegation of 40 representatives to attend \u201cThe 3rd<\/sup> Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Exchange Forum on Synergistic Promotion of Disability Rights and Services\u201d in Shenzhen, which was organized by China Disability Research Society and Shenzhen University on 9 \u2013 10 November 2024.<\/p>\n

Mr Cheng Kai, Chairman of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, officiated the opening ceremony. \u00a0The two-day forum consisted of plenary and parallel sessions, and an agency visit in Dongguan.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Joint Council was honoured to organize one of the parallel sessions.\u00a0 The theme was \u201cRehabilitation Services: From Users\u2019 Perspective\u201d. We invited representatives of Shenzhen Association for Families with Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, Macau Association Support for the Disabled, Fu Hong Parent Group, Chosen Power and Hong Kong Neuro-Muscular Disease Association to share their experiences in promoting user participation.<\/p>\n
