The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities 60th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon
‘The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities 60th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon’ (the Luncheon) was held on 8 November with great success. Mr Cheng Kai, Chairman of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and Mr Sun Yuk-han, Secretary for Labour and Welfare of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government were invited to deliver speeches and officiate the ceremony at the Luncheon, which was attended by nearly 200 colleagues from the rehabilitation service sector.
The Luncheon was held at the Hotel ICON in Tsim Sha Tsui with a number of invited guests, including Mr Chen Ziming, Division Head of the Social Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Ms Lee Pui-sze, Director of Social Welfare Department of HKSAR Government; Revd Canon Hon Peter Douglas Koon Ho-ming, Chairman of Panel on Welfare Services of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR; Dr Tik Chi-yuen, Member (Social Welfare) of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR; Mr Chua Hoi-wai, Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Council of Social Service; Ms Lam Mei-sau, Chairperson of Equal Opportunities Commission; Mr Fung Pak-yan, Chairman of Rehabilitation Advisory Committee of Labour and Welfare Bureau of HKSAR Government; Mr Chan Wai-wai, Commissioner for Rehabilitation of HKSAR Government; Mr Hui Chung-shing, Chairperson of Social Workers Registration Board; Dr James Joseph Lam, Chairman of the Committee on Vocational Training for People with Disabilities of the Vocational Training Council; as well as past and incumbent Chairpersons, Vice-Chairpersons and members of the Management Committee of the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities (Joint Council), have gathered to celebrate the important occasion of the Joint Council’s 60th Anniversary.
