In 2024, Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities / Hong Kong Council of Social service organized the Workshop on Oral Care for People with Intellectual Disability and was well received by the rehabilitation sector. In view of this, we held the Second Workshop on Oral Care for People with Intellectual Disability on 8 May 2025. Upon completion of the Workshop, participants were expected to be equipped with knowledge and skills in improving oral health for persons with intellectual disability, and was able to provide relevant training to their frontline staff. Dr. Lai Tat Ming was again invited to host the Workshop.
The content of the Workshop included:
- Basic caring principles
- Practice of tooth brushing
- How to assist those persons with special needs and under long-term care to grasp basic skills in tooth brushing
- Written and technical test
